Are Indoor Trees the Next Big (Really Big!) Thing In Home Décor?

Many people enjoy keeping houseplants – what better way to bring a little bit of the outdoors in? During the winter it’s nice to get your gardening fix by tending to a potted houseplant, but have you ever considered bringing an entire tree inside?

After perusing gardening and design websites for the latest trends in home decor, I stumbled across an incredible article on Yellowtrace, a beautiful interior design site. The article was all about bringing the outdoors in, by incorporating trees into your room design! I’m not talking about thin, potted shrubs or plants, but real, sometimes living, massive trees.

Can you imagine trees like these in your home?

Some of the rooms featured in the article contained trees that spanned from floor to ceiling, almost like giant natural pillars. Others encased trees in glass like artwork, and some even used the trunks in a playful way to create an indoor hideaway inspired by outdoor tree houses. In some cases, the architecture of the homes or public spaces allowed for entire rooms to be designed around the trees, and with good reason, as they make for a fantastic, earthy feel and are certainly statement pieces in any room.

Okay, so maybe you don’t have the space in your home or apartment to fit an entire tree. I know that I sure won’t be hauling a massive, sprawling tree home anytime soon. In the meantime though, take a moment to get lost in these amazing tree-inspired designs from Yellowtrace. I promise, these photos are going to make you wish you could fit a tree somewhere into your décor, and they might just be the next really big thing in naturally-inspired home design.
